Game review – Waterproof playing cards AND Uno Flip

You can follow our family on youtube on our many foster-adopt homeschooling adventures

So for those who do follow our blog and family know that we are gamers. We love all different types of games.

Last month, Shelby, Michael, Larry and I (Kris) took a Carnival Cruise for Shelby’s 21st birthday out of Long Beach. Larry and I love to go on cruises since we can “unplug” from technology for a little while but that is another story altogether. Check out a few of the photos below!

I always take a deck of playing cards when we go. And that deck is always a waterproof set since most of the time when we are playing cards, we are on the deck of the ship near the pools. I posted a link below to the ones that we use (And Berlyn tries to confiscate all of the time!!)

This trip I picked up another game as well! UNO FLIP! It is so much fun. We sat and play 8 rounds of it taking the first afternoon on the ship to just enjoy food and fun.

This game is AWESOME because it changes all of the time, still using the classic UNO techniques. Each card had a light side and a dark side. Everyone plays on the light side to start and there are flip cards. When those are used, you flip your hand over and use the dark side. The cards are not all the same, so you will not have a yellow 3 on light and be guaranteed a purple 6 on the back. Berlyn is still trying to figure out the pattern (which I don’t think that there is one!) Even Grayson can play this one at 9 with no problem. It did take a few minutes to get used to what the symbols on the cards meant…. I don’t think that Shelby or I won a game against Michael or Larry on the ship.
